Employee Spotlight: Chris Jack, ICU Registered Nurse

Goldbelt is proud to recognize Chris Jack, Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan, for his exceptional attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Chris supports Goldbelt Glacier’s Allied Health program under Program Manager Jen Juliano.

While preparing a patient’s scheduled medication, Chris identified a critical discrepancy. Although the medication was labeled as the correct drug, the medication in the bottle did not match the label. Chris recognized the inconsistency before the dose reached the patient, preventing the wrong medication from being administered.

In a fast-paced ICU, this level of vigilance makes all the difference. Chris’s careful review, clinical judgment, and commitment to following proper medication safety procedures prevented a potentially serious medication error and ensured the patient received safe, appropriate care.

Leadership at U.S. Naval Medicine Readiness and Training Command Yokosuka recognized Chris for his actions, noting that his “diligence and commitment to patient safety reflect highly on the values set forth by U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka.”

Chris’s actions exemplify the professionalism, accountability, and commitment to patient care that our Allied Health professionals bring to the military communities they serve every day.
