Goldbelt Taku and Glacier Staff Providing Outstanding Care

Jasmine Nestor and Katlyn Holmes, Registered Nurse Special Needs Coordinators at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, were awarded the Commander’s Coin following their comprehensive briefing on the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) during a recent Town Hall. The accommodation was awarded by Brigadier General Nicholas Evans, Commander, 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan. The 18th Wing is the largest combat wing in the U.S. Air Force, providing the Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command with forces trained and equipped for tactical air combat, combat search and rescue, command and control, and aeromedical evacuation for peacetime and contingency operations.

The recognition for Nestor and Holmes, who serve under Jen Juliano’s USAF Medical Services contract with Goldbelt Glacier, providing vital support to military families and reinforcing the EFMP mission at Kadena. The Exceptional Family Member Program system is intended to make it easier and more convenient for service members and their families to navigate the wide and sometimes complex array of resources, benefits, and care available.

Enrollment in the EFMP is mandatory for active duty service members who have family with ongoing medical and/or special educational needs. Their registration and the dedicated work of nurses like Jasmine Nestor and Katlyn Holmes, ensures military families receive the support and care they need while preventing assignments to locations lacking adequate medical or educational services.

Goldbelt Glacier Health Services is here to accelerate the delivery of care, providing superior force health readiness across the Military, Federal, and Civilian landscapes.
